PLANS ARE ALREADY UNDERWAY FOR A 4-STORY, 8-UNIT APARTMENT/CONDO BUILDING AT 4440 TALOFA AVENUE. CONSTRUCTION COULD START AS EARLY AS MARCH 1!
Your help is urgently needed!! Please contact Councilman Tom LaBonge immediately to HELP US STOP THIS PROJECT.
WHY SHOULD YOU BE CONCERNED? HERE ARE THE FACTS:
This development sets a dangerous precedent for future 4-story buildings to be built on residential streets like Clybourn, Ponca and Forman.
If you care about noise, traffic, or quality of life and YOUR PROPERTY VALUES please join our efforts.
The developers plan to squeeze a 40-by-100-foot building onto a 55-by-130-foot lot. Neighbors have been notified that a 10-foot excavation will be dug as close as 6 INCHES from their property lines.
The developers plan to put the entrance for underground parking ON TALOFA AVENUE, adding to traffic and aggravating problems of chronic congestion at the corner of Riverside Drive and Talofa.
The city requires the developers to furnish 18 parking spaces for the new construction. It does not seem possible to fit that many cars at this location. Where will the overflow park? ON OUR STREETS!
Main windows and balconies are expected to face south on Talofa, directly overlooking yards and windows of many houses on Talofa and Mariota.
